The Sanwa Koutsu Taxi Haunted Spot Pilgrimage Tour 2026 has launched, with three taxi companies from Niigata, Shizuoka, and Hiroshima joining the event for the first time. The addition brings the total number of covered areas to eight — the most in the tour's history — marking its first-ever nationwide expansion beyond the Kanto region.
The tour has drawn significant media coverage in TV, newspapers, and online outlets in previous years. Each area's route is built around local ghost legends, stories passed down among residents, and firsthand accounts from taxi drivers who have spent years on those roads.
The grand opening and lottery applications began on June 8, 2026 at 12:00 PM.
