Seven-Eleven Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Tomohiro Akutsu) is rolling out two new treats at Seven-Eleven stores nationwide: Lotte Anzutsumi (ロッテ あんづつみ), an ice cream that flips convention by wrapping the ice cream whole in red bean paste, and GODIVA-Supervised Frozen Chocolat Ice, a frozen cup ice cream created in collaboration with the chocolate brand GODIVA.
Lotte Anzutsumi wraps the ice cream whole in smooth strained red bean paste (koshian) rather than tucking the paste inside the ice cream or a monaka wafer. Made with Hokkaido Tokachi red beans, it's a wagashi-style ice cream with pronounced, rich flavor. GODIVA-Supervised Frozen Chocolat Ice layers chocolate ice cream over a chocolate-chip-studded frozen ice base and tops it with fragrant almonds, finished with Belgian chocolate for an upscale frozen treat.
These two "reward ice cream" treats are well suited to an especially indulgent moment on a long autumn night.

Soft Texture Even After Freezing

Anzutsumi follows Nama Choco Tsutsumi (生チョコ包み) in a series that wraps ice cream, in the same spirit as Yukimi Daifuku, a mainstay of Lotte's ice cream lineup. Inside the smooth, soft koshian that stays tender even after freezing, vanilla ice cream melts icy-cool for a wagashi-style ice cream with a new kind of texture.
A Method That Draws Out Rich Flavor

The red bean paste uses Hokkaido Tokachi red beans, known for their pronounced sweetness. By dialing back the vanilla ice cream's sweetness compared with the previous product, the koshian's flavor comes through more, for an ice cream with richer, more well-rounded flavor.
