Hokkaido-Only Mazemaze Sweets Melon Milk with Warabimochi Arrives at Seven-Eleven for a Limited Time

Seven-Eleven stores in Hokkaido are adding a new limited-time flavor to the "Mazemaze Sweets" (まぜまぜスイーツ) series, a dessert enjoyed by stirring the layered ingredients in the cup with a straw. "Mazemaze Sweets Melon Milk with Warabimochi, Made with Furano Melon Sauce" (まぜまぜスイーツ メロンミルク わらびもち入り 富良野メロンソース使用) goes on sale at Seven-Eleven stores in Hokkaido, rolling out in phases from Tuesday, October 6, for a limited time.

"Mazemaze Sweets" is a new style of dessert in which the layered ingredients are mixed together and enjoyed through a straw, so each sip tastes a little different. Jiggly warabimochi inside the cup adds a happy, bouncy texture.

This flavor uses a sauce made from Furano melon, said to be one of Hokkaido's "Big Three Melons," in the sauce, whipped cream and warabimochi. It is paired with milk containing white chocolate, so the melon's refreshing sweetness comes together with the richness of the milk. With its vivid melon orange and pure white colors, it is a dessert sold only in Hokkaido and only for a limited time.

Refreshingly Sweet Furano Melon Sauce

The melon sauce is made from Furano melon grown in the Furano Basin, where the large daily temperature swings suit melon cultivation. This highly sweet local specialty is counted among Hokkaido's "Big Three Melons" alongside Yubari melon and Raiden melon. The milk in the middle layer is made with white chocolate for a creamy, rich flavor.

Three Layers with Deep Flavor and a Chewy Warabimochi Texture

The dessert is built in three layers: melon warabimochi, milk, and melon sauce with melon whipped cream. Stirring them with a straw blends the layers into a deep, mellow flavor, while the springy, chewy warabimochi adds a textural accent.
