Shima Brewery (志摩醸造), a craft beer brewery located at Kintetsu Ukata Station in Shima City, Mie Prefecture, has collaborated with popular rock band Yabai T-shirts yasan to create an original flavored beer. The "Kimi wa Cupuasu" Beer goes on sale from May 8, 2026, in limited quantities.
This collaboration was born out of the large-scale live event "Tank-top Festival 2026" in Shima Spain Village. Band members visited Shima Brewery during an interview for the event's official guidebook, and the idea for a beer inspired by their song "Kimi wa Cupuasu" took shape from there.
Yabai T-shirts yasan has performed at Shima Spain Village in both 2024 and 2025, drawing approximately 16,000 attendees over two days in the previous year alone. Since this year, the band has also taken on the role of Shima Tourism Ambassadors, using music as a vehicle for regional promotion.
About the Beer
The "Kimi wa Cupuasu" Beer is a Belgian-Style Fruit Beer brewed with cupuacu — a fruit native to the Amazon rainforest and a relative of the cacao plant — as a secondary ingredient. The beer combines the sweet-and-sour, tropical aroma characteristic of cupuacu with the fruity depth of Belgian-style brewing, resulting in a distinctly exotic and refreshing flavor.
The can label is a limited-edition design created exclusively for this collaboration, making it appealing both to fans of the band and to visitors exploring the region.
