Grand Prince Hotel Hiroshima (23-1 Motoujina-machi, Minami-ku, Hiroshima), a resort surrounded by sky and sea, is offering a "Pool & Lunch Plan to Enjoy the Lingering Summer Heat" from Tuesday, September 1 to Wednesday, September 23 (a holiday), 2026, that pairs a hotel lunch with use of the outdoor pool and onsen.
The hotel's outdoor pool usually closes at the end of August each year. This year, however, with severe lingering summer heat expected to continue into September, the pool's operating period is being extended through Wednesday, September 23 (a holiday).
According to the one-month forecast issued by the Japan Meteorological Agency on August 20, 2026, there is a 70% chance that average temperatures in western Japan will be above normal for the month starting August 22, and a 60% chance they will be above normal for the two weeks starting September 5 — pointing to continued severe heat into September.*1
Under the plan, guests choose a lunch from one of three restaurants — the 23rd-floor "Sky Lounge Top of Hiroshima," the 22nd-floor "Steak & Seafood Boston," or the 21st-floor "Chinese Restaurant Riho" — and afterward can use the outdoor pool and Hiroshima Onsen "Seto no Yu" as day guests, both of which are normally reserved for overnight guests only.
After a refreshing time at the outdoor pool overlooking the Seto Inland Sea, guests can unwind in the onsen. Along with lunch, it's a chance to enjoy the hotel's resort atmosphere for a day.
