Enoden (Enoshima Electric Railway Co., Ltd.; headquartered in Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture) is once again taking part in "Shonan Candle 2026," organized by the Shonan Fujisawa Vitalization Consortium. For 25 days, from Saturday, October 10 to Tuesday, November 3 (a national holiday), the Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden will be wrapped in the warm glow of 10,000 candles, one of the largest displays of its kind in Japan. A pre-event, "Shonan Candle 2026 Fujisawa Station Plaza Pre-Event," will also be held for three days, from Wednesday, October 7 to Friday, October 9, at Sunpearl Plaza outside the north exit of Fujisawa Station.
At the Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden (managed by Enoden), colorful candle holders filled with candlelight spread across the grounds, creating a dreamlike scene reminiscent of a shimmering open sea. As autumn deepens into night, the gentle lights swaying in the sea breeze create a moment unique to Shonan Candle.
Following on from the currently running "Enoshima Tourou 2026" (through Wednesday, September 23, a national holiday), the event also brings a collaboration with the popular anime series Rascal Does Not Dream. Collaboration candles will be installed, and original collaboration goods will be given to visitors, while supplies last.
Highlights of Shonan Candle 2026
Highlight 1: 10,000 Candles Fill Enoshima
Over 25 days, candlelight blankets Enoshima on one of the largest scales in Japan. The lights of Shonan Candle are kept alive by volunteers and staff, mostly local residents, who light and extinguish each candle by hand every day. The connections among many people come together to create this fantastical world of light.

Highlight 2: A Collaboration with the Popular Anime Series Rascal Does Not Dream
With the theatrical release of the series' final chapter, Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend, coming on Friday, October 16, the popular anime series Rascal Does Not Dream is joining the event for a special collaboration. Set in the Shonan and Enoshima area familiar to fans as the story's backdrop, this special project invites both longtime fans and those experiencing the series for the first time to enjoy the collaboration together.
