Takara Shuzo's popular Takara "Shochu Highball" is celebrating a major milestone — the brand turns 20 years old on March 7, 2026. To mark the occasion, special limited-edition "20th Anniversary Cans" are being released for select variants of the lineup.
The anniversary cans are available for two flavors — Dry and Lemon — across both the standard Takara "Shochu Highball" (7% alcohol) and the lighter Takara "Shochu Highball Kire no 5%" (5% alcohol) series. Both 350ml and 500ml sizes are included. The rollout begins in early March 2026, with nationwide availability continuing until stock of the anniversary packaging runs out.
Takara "Shochu Highball" first launched on March 7, 2006, and is modeled after the original shochu highball culture that flourished in Tokyo's working-class neighborhood bars (shitamachi izakayas) from the late 1940s onward. The drink is recognized for its robust flavor derived from Takara Shochu, strong carbonation, and a dry, crisp finish. It also carries zero sugar*, zero purines**, and no artificial sweeteners***.
For two decades, the brand has maintained its signature taste while evolving alongside changing consumer preferences. The anniversary cans feature a special package design created to express appreciation toward long-time fans.
