A new canned RTD (Ready to Drink) is joining the "Ikkomon" lineup. Takara Shuzo will release "Ikkomon" Soda 6°, a 350ml soda-highball can made from its 100% sweet potato shochu, nationwide on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
Background
100% sweet potato shochu "Ikkomon" has been on the market since 2001, and for 25 years it has focused on a flavor made possible only by using 100% sweet potato. Even the koji is made from sweet potato — a true "100% sweet potato shochu" — and the spirit is aged in a dedicated stone storehouse where temperature fluctuates very little. Together, these two factors produce the brand's signature natural sweetness and a clean finish free of off-flavors, earning it a loyal following.
About the New Product
The new "Ikkomon" Soda 6° is a canned soda highball designed to let drinkers enjoy the appeal of "Ikkomon" casually, even as the first drink of the evening. Diluted with carbonation to 6% ABV, the can lets the natural sweetness and clean, fuss-free taste unique to a 100% sweet potato shochu stand out even more, making it a good match for food.
