The music video for "KARATACHI," the latest single from Tokyo-based artist The Deity, premiered on April 16, 2026 at 7:00 PM via the indie label 187RECORDS.

The video was shot entirely on location at Nishi-no-Kawahara Park in Kusatsu Onsen, Kusatsu Town, Gunma Prefecture. Filming took place with official permission from the Kusatsu Town Office Tourism Division, and the park was reserved exclusively for the production. The river running through the park is itself a hot spring, and at night the steam that rises from it is lit up, filling the area with an almost dreamlike atmosphere.

Filming was carried out on a snowy day, and the interplay of hot spring steam, artificial lighting, and falling snow produced visuals that blur the line between reality and the surreal.
The video also features a visual shift between traditional kimono and contemporary fashion. The blending of Japanese and Western aesthetics runs parallel to the song's themes — the joys, sorrows, anger, and tenderness that people carry through life, and the sense of time passing.

The Deity has built a following that extends well beyond Japan, with comments arriving from listeners in countries including India, Italy, and across South America. The new video is available to audiences worldwide.

Comment from The Deity
"Flowers have beauty, but they also have thorns. I think human life is the same.
'KARATACHI' is a song about people living while carrying all of it — joy and sorrow, anger and kindness.
It has been about ten months since I underwent surgery to remove half of my right lung. Being able to share music again feels like a miracle.
I hope this song can find a place somewhere in someone's life."
