A Japan beta test is coming soon for Three Kingdoms Tactics: Go, a new smartphone game from Qookka Games.
The game is an SRPG×SLG developed under an official license from Koei Tecmo Games' historical simulation title ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS XIV.
Development is led by the team behind 三國志 真戦, keeping the world of ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS XIV intact while blending free troop formation, tactics that make use of the battlefield environment, large-scale alliance battles fought together with allies, and other strategic elements. The result is a new kind of Three Kingdoms experience distinct from conventional SLG titles, where every battlefield calls for a different approach and no two situations play out the same way.
Win Every Battle on the Board and Aim for Dominion — A Strategy Experience Unique to SRPG×SLG
In Three Kingdoms Tactics: Go, players take on the role of a ruler, leading officers in pursuit of dominion over a war-torn land. Train officers, assemble a unique formation, and head into battle. Reading the enemy's formation and the state of the battlefield, players move their officers by hand and choose the best move at each turn. The game combines the tactical depth of shifting the battle with a single move on the board with the strategic depth of building a fighting style by combining officers and unit types, delivering a strategy experience unique to SRPG×SLG.
Turn-Based Tactical Battles Full of Strategy, Where Your Own Judgment Shapes the Battle
The game features turn-based tactical battles in which parties of five officers fight across grid-based battlefields. Rather than having outcomes decided by numbers alone as in conventional SLG titles, the player's own judgment — officer traits, unit-type compatibility, positioning, and the timing of skill use — determines the course of battle.
As the "Tactics: Go" in the title suggests, the game's appeal lies not just in watching battle results unfold but in moving pieces on the board and leading the fight yourself. Players can adapt their tactics to the situation, and a single move can turn the tide of battle, deciding the difference between a comeback and defeat in a tense back-and-forth that allows no room for carelessness.

Endless Officer × Tactic × Unit-Type Combinations Let You Build Your Own Fighting Style
Players can freely combine a wide range of officers, tactics, and unit types. Each officer's tactic is expressed based on historical facts and anecdotes about the figure, letting their appeal come through vividly during tactical battles. Officers' individual traits and characteristics can also be drawn on to build a one-of-a-kind formation — from a high-damage formation built around Shu's Five Tiger Generals, to a sustained-damage tactic making use of Wu's fire attacks, to a sturdy defensive formation centered on Wei's Cao Ren — offering a wide range of combat and formation styles depending on how you combine them.

Real-Time Alliance Battles at a Range of Scales
Real-time alliance battles come in a range of scales, from small skirmishes of 1v1 or 3v3 up to large-scale clashes of 50v50 or 100v100. Players can control the battlefield with strategies that make use of terrain and weather — blocking bridges, fire attacks, surprise attacks, and pincer movements — and deploy varied tactics through teamwork with allies. The preparation stage of clearing a route to a base, previously required, has also been removed, letting players freely advance their troops and join the battlefield quickly. Amid a constantly shifting battle situation, players can fully enjoy the strategic depth unique to alliance battles and the thrill of fighting alongside allies toward victory.

A Vast Battlefield That Lets You Relive Famous Scenes From the Three Kingdoms
Locations connected to the Three Kingdoms period — including Wuchao, the Wuzhang Plains, Changban Bridge, and Zhuge Liang's Thatched Cottage — are faithfully recreated. Players can freely explore the vast map, encountering famed generals and experiencing the hidden side of history through chance events. Numerous historic scenes, including the Battle of Red Cliffs, the Battle of Guandu, and the Battle of Changban, can be carved out through the player's own moves and strategy, aiming for dominion from the board.
