LED TOKYO will be presenting the immersive LED installation "TIME LEAP GARDEN – A Garden Through Space and Time Woven by Video –" at JAPAN SHOP 2026, running from Tuesday, March 3 to Friday, March 6, 2026, at Tokyo Big Sight.
The project was originally slated for a public unveiling in November of last year, but was ultimately cancelled. Following an extensive review of the concept, a full overhaul of the system configuration, and refinements to the production design, the installation is now ready for its first public showing.
TIME LEAP GARDEN
TIME LEAP GARDEN is an immersive space that brings a fictional garden inspired by Japanese aesthetics to life through LED displays, architecture, video, and art.
The installation is structured around the theme of the passage of time — from stillness and the four seasons to pulsating light and futuristic vistas. High-definition LED panels render sand ripples, dappled tree shadows, and water surfaces with an unprecedented sense of depth and texture.
Exhibition Highlights
The version on display at JAPAN SHOP 2026 is a rebuilt iteration based on the originally planned production, with the following enhancements:
- Video direction optimized for the exhibition floor layout
- A new panel configuration balancing visibility and immersive impact
- Redesigned media art direction to emphasize three-dimensionality
- Improved lighting intensity and color accuracy for a wider range of expression
