Tokorozawa Sakura Town, the cultural complex in Tokorozawa, Saitama, will host "Kissako TOKOROZAWA TEA FES 2026," a festival bringing together tea producers and specialty shops, for four days on Saturday, October 31, Sunday, November 1, Monday, November 2, and Tuesday, November 3 (a national holiday), 2026. The event is organized by Kadokawa Media House and co-hosted by KADOKAWA.
Tokorozawa is home to Sayama tea, one of Japan's three most famous teas, making Tokorozawa Sakura Town a fitting stage for what organizers describe as one of East Japan's largest tea events. This release marks the first wave of information, covering ticket details and the shops joining the tasting rally. Exhibitors offering a wide range of teas — Japanese green tea and black tea, Indian black tea, Chinese tea, and more — will gather for a tasting rally, giving visitors a chance to talk directly with producers and specialty shop owners. Beyond loose-leaf tea, vendors will also carry teaware and other tea-related goods, and the event period will include participatory programs such as seminars and workshops.

Admission to the event venue is free, but a separate ticket is required to take part in the tasting rally. A limited quantity of original novelty cups featuring the event logo will also be available.

- Admission is free; a ticket is required to join the tasting rally.
- One flat price applies to everyone from junior high school age up.

- Each tasting pour is approximately 20 ml.
- Bringing your own cup is allowed (the pour amount is the same regardless of cup size).

The tasting rally brings together tea specialty shops offering carefully selected teas from Japan's leading tea-producing regions — including Sayama, Shizuoka, Ibaraki, and Kagoshima — as well as China, Taiwan, India, and other parts of the world. Alongside loose-leaf tea, teaware, and tea-paired sweets, visitors can speak directly with producers and shop owners, making it easy to enjoy both tasting and conversation while deepening their appreciation of tea. It's an ideal chance to sample a wide variety of teas and find a new favorite.

Japan Tea Award Judging and Tea Seminars
The venue will also host seminars covering everything from how to brew a delicious cup of tea to professional demonstrations and tea-tasting sessions, offering visitors a deeper look at the appeal of tea. A seminar hosted by the Japan Black Tea Association is planned for October 31 (Sat), and on November 1 (Sun), the Japan Tea Instructor Association will hold the Japan Tea Award 2026 third-round judging and a Japan tea beverage category judging session.
Each session has limited capacity, and some seminars require advance registration. Further details will be announced in a future release.
About the Name "Kissako TOKOROZAWA TEA FES"
The name "Kissako (喫茶来)" takes inspiration from the Zen phrase "kissako (喫茶去)," meaning "have a cup of tea," and carries the wish for visitors to "come (来)" to Tokorozawa and to think about, expand, and enjoy the "future (来)" of tea. Set in Tokorozawa Sakura Town, in the heart of Sayama tea country — Sayama tea being one of Japan's three most famous teas — the festival offers a chance to fully experience the appeal of tea culture.
