New Space Mountain: Earthrise and Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue Attractions Coming to Tokyo Disneyland's Tomorrowland

Tomorrowland has continued to evolve since Tokyo Disneyland® first opened in 1983. Now, with a total investment of ¥100 billion, the heart of Tomorrowland is set for a major transformation, bringing two new attractions along with new shops and a food location.

The attraction themed around the Disney film Wreck-It Ralph, opening in spring 2027, will be called "Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue." The new Space Mountain and its surrounding plaza, opening afterward, will be named "Space Mountain: Earthrise" and "Tomorrowland Plaza."

"Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue" is Disney's first-ever theme park attraction to place guests inside the colorful world of a video game, joining Ralph and Vanellope to face off against King Candy. Using technology introduced for the first time anywhere at Tokyo Disney Resort®, guests take part in the story for an unprecedented interactive gaming experience. "Space Mountain: Earthrise," Tomorrowland's signature attraction, keeps the indoor roller coaster format beloved since the park's opening while being completely reborn, adding a new space-themed story and dynamic, immersive staging for an all-new adventure through a thrilling cosmos. "Tomorrowland Plaza," at the heart of Tomorrowland, will serve as a square connecting the land's past and future, expressing harmony between humanity and nature.

Centered on "Tomorrowland Plaza," Tomorrowland's image will expand and the land will continue to evolve further. Look forward to a world of tomorrow yet to be seen.

An indoor attraction themed around the Disney film Wreck-It Ralph, set in the world of video games, designed so that guests from children to adults can enjoy interactive gameplay together. It will also be the first attraction anywhere in the world themed around the film.

In the attraction, King Candy's glitch creation, the "Sugar Bugs," threatens to destroy the candy-coated racing game world of Sugar Rush. To save it, guests step into the game world and team up with the film's familiar characters, Ralph and Vanellope, immersing themselves in a colorful game world as they turn the Sugar Bugs back into their original, adorable forms as gumdrops and cupcakes.

"Space Mountain: Earthrise" is an indoor roller coaster-type attraction with everything from the building to the ride system completely renewed, blending a new space-themed story with dynamic, immersive staging. The experience begins as the ride carrying guests launches from Earth and plunges into space. Light and sound effects depicting a range of cosmic phenomena, together with a ride-mounted audio system — the first of its kind on a Tokyo Disney Resort® coaster — deliver a dynamic, immersive space experience unlike any before it. The exterior design draws on the movement of celestial bodies and the curves found in nature, such as trees and flowers, expressing a connection to both space and nature.

The "Earthrise" in "Space Mountain: Earthrise" refers to the sight of the Earth rising over the Moon's horizon, much like the sun rising over Earth's own horizon when viewed from space. It expresses the beauty and preciousness of Earth, the one-of-a-kind presence in the vastness of space, and is a Japan-original theme among the "Space Mountain" attractions found at Disney theme parks around the world. Through a thrilling, exciting journey exploring the mysteries of the vast cosmos, it delivers an experience of rediscovering the beauty of Earth along with hope-filled inspiration for the future.

"Space Mountain: Earthrise" is presented by The Coca-Cola (Japan) Company, Ltd.
