New Tomorrowland Attraction "Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue" Opens at Tokyo Disneyland on April 15, 2027

Tomorrowland has continued to evolve since Tokyo Disneyland® opened on April 15, 1983. The opening date of its new attraction themed around the Disney film Wreck-It Ralph, "Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue," has been set for Thursday, April 15, 2027.

Ahead of the opening, programs that let guests enjoy the atmosphere of the attraction will start one after another from Tuesday, January 12, 2027, building anticipation right up to the grand opening day.

The opening falls on the day the park marks its 44th anniversary, and "Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue" will begin yet another new "tomorrow."

In addition to "Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue" and the upcoming "Space Mountain: Earthrise," Tomorrowland Plaza at the center of Tomorrowland and new merchandise and food shops will open one after another as Tomorrowland continues to evolve.

Attraction "Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue"

Opens Thursday, April 15, 2027

An attraction themed around the Disney film Wreck-It Ralph, and the first of its kind in the world.

King Candy, who plots to conquer the world of games, has set his sights first on "Sugar Rush," a racing game set in a land of candy. He has turned sweets in the Sugar Rush world, such as gummies and ice cream, into "Sugar Bugs," which are programmed to eat up the whole candy world. Guests team up with Ralph, Vanellope, and others and step into the colorful game world, traveling through various scenes of the candy land to turn the Sugar Bugs that are destroying it back into their original adorable sweets. The music in the attraction was composed by Henry Jackman, who also composed the music for Wreck-It Ralph, and newly recorded pieces deepen the sense of immersion in the game world.

Guests board vehicles and enter the game to turn countless Sugar Bugs back into their original sweets. Using devices mounted on the vehicle, everyone works together to try to save the world of "Sugar Rush" from King Candy. When a Sugar Bug is turned back into an adorable sweet, guests earn a score based on the type of sweet and the number of Sugar Bugs returned to their sweet form. Scores can be checked on the vehicle's display, and also in the Tokyo Disney Resort® App for a certain period after the ride. At the same time, a ride shot photo of guests playing the game is automatically registered in the app's "My Photo," where the photo can be purchased.

Moving along with the vehicle, the attraction lets guests from children to adults enjoy the game interactively.

  • To check ride shots and scores in the Tokyo Disney Resort App, guests need to launch the app and turn on Bluetooth on their own smartphone before experiencing the attraction.
  • Photos automatically registered in "My Photo" can be selected and purchased from the app or the order site for 30 days from the date they were taken.
  • Using "Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue" may require obtaining a "Standby Pass" (free) or purchasing "Disney Premier Access" (paid).
