TRUNK(HOTEL) CAT STREET, a boutique hotel in Jingumae, Shibuya, Tokyo, begins taking reservations on Thursday, October 1, 2026, for Christmas-limited menus at its main dining restaurant TRUNK(KITCHEN) and its concept store TRUNK(STORE).
Christmas Dinner at TRUNK(KITCHEN)
On December 24 (Thursday) and 25 (Friday) only, TRUNK(KITCHEN) serves two Christmas dinner courses, one with six dishes and one with eight, under the theme of "celebration." The dishes pair a vibrant presentation with a sense of feast that comes across at a glance, expressing the classics of Western cuisine through techniques the chef has built up over the years.
The six-course menu is a standard structure covering everything from the appetizer to fish, meat, and dessert. It features seasonal ingredients such as kinmedai (splendid alfonsino), which is rich in fat in winter, samegarei flatfish from Hakodate with its skin grilled crisp, and Ezo deer, whose flavor deepens as the weather gets colder.
The eight-course menu adds a soup and a pasta dish. The soup is a yukishita (under-snow) carrot potage topped with a foam made from clam broth lightly scented with black truffle. The pasta is a tortellini of Kagoshima-grown suppon (soft-shelled turtle), with ginger and Kujo green onion rounding out the finish. The main course is Wagyu fillet. For dessert, Kumamoto-grown "Yubeni" strawberries take the lead, accented with bergamot and thyme and wrapped in the mild richness of mascarpone. The menus are designed for first-time guests and regulars alike.
Christmas Cakes with Kumamoto Ingredients at TRUNK(STORE)
At TRUNK(STORE), Christmas cakes made with ingredients sourced from Kumamoto producers are on sale under the theme "Mémoire de Noël" (carrying memories into the future). This year marks 10 years since the 2016 Kumamoto earthquakes, and the prefecture was struck by major shaking once again. The cakes use fruit, chestnuts, and tea leaves carefully grown by farmers in places including Mashiki, which suffered severe damage at the time, and Yatsushiro and Uki, which were affected this time. Created under the "socializing" idea that TRUNK(HOTEL) CAT STREET upholds, the cakes carry the wish to stand with the recovery and reconstruction and to pass that memory on to the future.

The in-store pickup cake "Le lien" takes its name from the French word for "ties" or "bonds." It combines "Yubeni" strawberries from Yamashita Strawberry Farm (山下いちご農園) in Yatsushiro and Grant lemons (グラントレモン) from Takaoka Orange Garden (髙岡オレンジ園) in Uki with chocolate. Piped cream and strawberries form an unbroken circle like a wreath, expressing the connections between people.
The petit cakes delivered to the home come as a set of two types. "Soleil" uses banpeiyu, a specialty of Yatsushiro, whole including the pith, layered with mascarpone mousse. "Châ-thé-igne" bakes "Minamata Wa-kocha" (みなまた和紅茶) Japanese black tea and Japanese chestnuts from Mashiki simmered in their astringent skins into a tart.
The lineup also includes the roast chicken that has been popular every year. A young chicken is marinated overnight in mineral-rich French salt, home-grown rosemary, and herbs, then roasted until juicy and moderately spicy. It comes with roast potatoes and Brussels sprouts for the holiday dinner table. The "Le lien" and roast chicken set is also available.
For Christmas this year, TRUNK(HOTEL) CAT STREET offers menus to enjoy with someone special.
