Unstoppable, Character-Designed by the Studio Behind Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda, and How to Train Your Dragon, Set for Its Asia Premiere at Kineko International Film Festival

Unstoppable — a CG-animated adventure film with character designs by Grangel Studio, the studio behind Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda, and How to Train Your Dragon, all of which became major hits in Japan — is set for its Asia premiere at the 33rd Kineko International Film Festival, held across venues throughout Futako-Tamagawa, Tokyo, from Friday, October 30 to Tuesday, November 3 (a public holiday), 2026. The festival is organized by Kineko Film, a general incorporated association (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative: Shinzo Kanno).

Screenings will be presented in two formats unique to the festival: "Live Cinema," in which the Japanese dub is performed live alongside the film, and voice-over, in which the dub is layered over the original audio track kept at low volume.

Synopsis

Kaya lives inside the body of ten-year-old Eric, but unlike the cells around her, she can't divide. Then, one day, she's given a job to do. This edge-of-your-seat adventure teaches viewers about how the body works and how the immune system functions, following Kaya as she wrestles with feeling different from everyone around her and gradually comes to understand her own worth and the important role she has to play — a story that delivers warmth and courage along with its discoveries.
