Background of the Collaboration
With 170 years of history rooted in the local community, Kashimaya has been seeking to create products that contribute to regional revitalization. The company felt a connection between Lum-chan's unwavering devotion to the main character Ataru Moroboshi and Kashimaya's own commitment to craftsmanship. This shared spirit led to the realization of this collaboration with manga artist Rumiko Takahashi, who has deep ties to Niigata's Furumachi district.
