Universal Studios Japan has announced that Sesame Street Fun World, located within the Universal Wonderland area, will end operations on Sunday, May 10, 2026. The zone has been welcoming guests since its opening on Friday, March 16, 2012.
Looking ahead to the next chapter of the park's collaboration with Sesame Street and the further evolution of guest experiences, Universal Studios Japan has decided to close Sesame Street Fun World. In appreciation of guests who have loved the area over the years, a special farewell event titled "Forever Friends" will be held from Friday, March 20, 2026, through Sunday, May 10, 2026.
Even after Sesame Street Fun World closes, guests can still enjoy Sesame Street characters in other parts of the park, including the "NO LIMIT! Parade -Discover U!!! Version-," "Ultimate Blues Bash -Colors of Music-," "Sesame Street 4-D Movie Magic" (currently on pause), and character greetings.
Special Farewell Event: "Forever Friends"
To honor 14 years of memories shared between Sesame Street Fun World and its guests — from young children to adults — the park is hosting two special activities during the farewell period.
Commemorative Photo Cards: "Capture the Memory Card"
Special cards will be distributed within the park. By holding the card up at designated spots and taking a photo, guests can create images that blend Elmo and friends with the surrounding scenery.

- Round 1: From Friday, March 20, 2026 (while supplies last)
- Round 2: From Wednesday, April 15, 2026, through Sunday, May 10, 2026

Message Board: "Everyone's Treasure Board"
Guests are invited to write down their most treasured memories of Sesame Street Fun World — whether it's the merry-go-round, the jungle gym, dancing with Moppy, or any special moment that brought a smile. Message boards will be set up at two locations within the area.

Locations and schedules may change without notice due to weather or other circumstances. Message cards will be rotated periodically, so your card may not be on display at all times.
