VALORANT Season 2026 // Act 4 Launches with New Map "Summit"

Riot Games has launched Season 2026 // Act 4 for the tactical FPS VALORANT on June 24, 2026 (Wednesday, Japan time). The update brings the new map "Summit" to the game.

New Map: Summit

Summit is a 5v5 map set at a Radiant training academy located in the mountains of China. Passages connecting the training hall to the meditation garden can be blocked by deploying walls found throughout the map, meaning battlefield conditions can change mid-round. The map's main features are as follows:

  • 2 sites
  • 3-lane structure
  • Deployable walls at A site, B site, and Mid
    • Once a wall is deployed, lines of sight and movement routes are blocked until the round ends.

The location was once home to a Radiant monastery, and Sage herself studied here before joining VALORANT. Summit will be available in Competitive Queue immediately upon release. For the first two weeks, RR loss from defeats on Summit will be reduced by 50%, while victories still grant 100% RR — allowing players to experience and practice the map in a competitive setting without the stress of ranking down. In addition, a Summit-exclusive queue will be available for 7 days, using the Swift Play mode format.

New 3v3 Mode: Retake

Act 4 also introduces "Retake," a high-tempo, round-based 3v3 mode that puts the focus on one of VALORANT's most exciting moments — the post-plant phase. The spike is already planted at the start of each round, with one team defending the site and the other working to retake it and defuse the spike. Teams switch sides each round, and randomized loadouts evolve as the match progresses, bringing fresh tactical decisions to every game.
