At a time when most communication happens over social media and other digital channels, Village Vanguard is turning attention back to something more old-fashioned — the warmth of a handwritten note. From July 31 (Fri) through August 31 (Mon), 2026, all 197 Village Vanguard stores across Japan are holding the "Miffy, Connected by Handwritten Warmth" fair, pairing Miffy's world with limited novelties and a sweepstakes that connects the person who sends a letter with the person who receives it.
Fair Overview
- Period: July 31 (Fri) – August 31 (Mon), 2026
- Novelties are given out while supplies last, and the novelty giveaway will end once they run out.
- Because of a delay in novelty deliveries, stores in Okinawa will start the fair later, from August 3 (Mon).

Limited-Edition Novelties
Customers who purchase Dick Bruna (Miffy) merchandise at participating stores during the fair period will receive an exclusive novelty, with the gift lineup expanding at higher purchase amounts.
Spend ¥2,000 (tax included) or more:
A Village Vanguard-exclusive postcard (1) plus a sweepstakes entry serial code (1).
Spend ¥3,000 (tax included) or more:
The same exclusive postcard (1) and serial code (1), plus a Village Vanguard-exclusive paper shopper bag (1).
Sweepstakes: "The Letter You Receive Becomes a Travel Ticket"
Write a message to someone special on the exclusive postcard and send it their way — either the sender or the recipient can then enter a sweepstakes that connects the two of them through the experience of giving and receiving a handwritten letter.
Prize: A pair accommodation voucher for Huis Ten Bosch in Nagasaki, including a one-day passport — 5 pairs (10 winners) in total.

How to enter:
- Spend ¥2,000 (tax included) or more at a participating fair store to receive the exclusive postcard and serial code.
- Write a message on the postcard and send or hand it to someone special.
- Either the sender or the recipient scans the QR code on the back of the postcard to access the entry form, uploading a photo of the postcard they received.
- Enter the serial code, take and upload a photo of the letter, fill in the required details, and submit the entry.
