NetEase Games and Everstone Studio are rolling out Version 2.2 of the open-world wuxia RPG Where Winds Meet starting September 16, 2026.
In this update, the story surrounding Hidden Mountain finally reaches its climax, with new main story chapters 「天災人禍」 and 「海を煮え立たす墜日」 arriving.
Players can also look forward to new campaigns 「飛天の遺跡」 and 「天の為の司南」, the new wuxia extraction mode 「渡塵墟」 launching September 23, and two formidable world bosses, 「蒼」 and 「金人太簇」, among a wide range of new content.
Hidden Mountain's Story Finally Concludes! 「天災人禍」 and 「海を煮え立たす墜日」 Arrive
The secrets hidden within Hidden Mountain are finally revealed in the final chapters, 「天災人禍」 and 「海を煮え立たす墜日」. As the secret behind 「烏金」 sparks fresh turmoil, players join 「巨子燕」 in pursuing the scheme hidden behind 「飛天城」, and witness firsthand the moment 「鵬長老」 makes a decision that will shape the future of 「墨山道」. The story also moves further forward with the sworn enemy 「千夜」 — the one behind the tragedy at 「忘仙郷」 that destroyed the protagonist's hometown and took their loved ones.
New Campaigns 「飛天の遺跡」 and 「天の為の司南」 Arrive
Alongside the main story's climax, Version 2.2 adds two new campaigns.
「飛天の遺跡」
Players board a 「飛鳶」 and take on a high-speed aerial chase through a collapsing tower. Waiting at the end is the former 「巨子青」. Through the battle, the long-buried past of 「墨道」 and her belief in "benefiting the people" come to light.
「天の為の司南」
Deep within a battlefield affected by unusual magnetic forces, players face off against 「鵬長老」 in a tense battle. During the fight, the direction of gravity constantly flips, demanding new approaches to combat. At the end of the battle, players witness the final choice 「鵬長老」 makes — whether 「墨山道」 continues to keep its distance from the world, or brings its craft out into a world in turmoil. Either way, its future begins to move forward.
New Wuxia Extraction Mode 「渡塵墟」 Arrives September 23
Starting September 23, the new wuxia extraction content 「渡塵墟」 arrives. It blends the tension of an extraction game — where players gather items and aim to escape — with the wuxia action unique to Where Winds Meet.
Playing solo or in a team of three, players head into a perilous desert in search of valuable treasure. However, only a limited number of extraction slots are available, and deciding when and what to bring back becomes a matter of life and death. Outwitting rivals doesn't require a blade or martial arts alone — players can also make use of disguises, pickpocketing, and pressure-point strikes to freeze opponents, among other skills and tricks. Some may even seize an important prize and make a clean escape without ever drawing their sword. Beyond combat skill, this unpredictable PvPvE mode also tests players' judgment and strategy.
Formidable World Bosses 「蒼」 and 「金人太簇」 Appear
Two new world bosses appear in Hidden Mountain.
「蒼」
A formidable foe wielding a massive hammer. 「蒼」 unleashes blazing iron blossoms as it stands in players' way.
「金人太簇」
Against this giant mechanical foe, simply attacking its body won't secure victory. Players must first destroy the structures on the battlefield to break its seal, then climb onto its massive frame to shut down its core.
These dynamic boss battles call for strategies unlike anything players have faced before.
Mid-Autumn Festival In-Game Event Also Underway
To mark the Mid-Autumn Festival in September, various limited-time in-game events are also being held. Taking part lets players earn rewards such as 「優雅な音色」 and 「梁塵の揺らぎ」 for free.
With Hidden Mountain's story reaching its climax and a wide range of limited-time events arriving alongside it, Version 2.2 invites players to look back on the story so far while taking on powerful world bosses and exploring new content such as the wuxia extraction mode 「渡塵墟」 in Where Winds Meet.
