The Chinese restaurant Karyu (驊騮) on the 31st floor of the Yokohama Grand InterContinental Hotel is bringing back its beloved summer specialty: "Premium Seafood Chilled Jade Noodles." Available from June 3 to September 30, 2026, this year's version features a refreshed presentation—toppings that were previously served on a separate plate are now arranged colorfully atop the vibrant jade-green noodles made with spinach, creating a visually striking single dish.

A Luxurious Array of Seafood and Toppings

The noodles are topped with 11 ingredients, with premium seafood taking center stage: whole prawns from Himeshima, Oita Prefecture; tender steamed abalone; salmon roe (ikura); and Chinese jellyfish. Alongside these are house-made char siu (BBQ pork) and steamed chicken, all carefully prepared in-house, as well as shiitake mushrooms braised in sweet soy sauce, kinshi tamago (thin shredded egg crepe), cucumber, tomato, toasted sesame seeds, and sprouts.

Two dipping sauces are offered to suit different tastes:

  • Shiso Soy Sauce — A clean, refreshing flavor with a pleasant sourness and the fragrant aroma of perilla
  • Yuzu Sesame Sauce — A rich, house-made sesame sauce with an elegant hint of yuzu

Lunch Set Available

During lunch hours, a set menu is also available, pairing the chilled jade noodles with three varieties of dim sum and a special dessert. The dessert consists of a choice of one glass sweet (mango pudding, almond tofu, or tapioca coconut milk), an egg tart, and seasonal fruit.

Both the single dish and the set include Karyu's original Chinese tea, "Bihada Saichi" (美肌彩茶), allowing guests to enjoy a lingering, aromatic cup of tea after their meal.

The restaurant is located on the hotel's top floor, with sweeping views of the blue sea and Yokohama Port spread out below. The combination of seasonal chilled noodles and panoramic harbor scenery makes this a summer dining experience worth seeking out.
