This authentic German beer festival has been recreating the atmosphere of Munich's famous Oktoberfest since 2003, establishing itself as one of Yokohama's signature autumn events. Last year attracted over 130,000 visitors, making it one of the Red Brick Warehouse's most popular annual celebrations.

The festival creates an authentic German atmosphere with large traditional tents, brewery-specific beer garden areas, and detailed decorations throughout. Visitors can enjoy genuine German beers alongside live performances by German bands. This level of authenticity comes from staff conducting research trips to Germany, and this year's event focuses even more intensively on recreating the genuine Munich experience.

The beer selection features approximately 100 varieties, including exclusive offerings making their Japanese debuts and venue-only selections that have proven popular with previous attendees. A special highlight this year is an original fest beer created through the first-ever collaboration with Yokohama Beer, a local craft brewery. This exclusive brew will be served in custom beer mugs created by renowned tableware maker Noritake specifically for the event, offering visitors a truly unique Yokohama experience.

This year's festival expands its appeal beyond beer enthusiasts. Every food and beverage vendor will offer extensive non-alcoholic options and alternatives to beer, ensuring the event welcomes visitors who prefer not to drink alcohol while maintaining the festive atmosphere for everyone.

The popular advance reservation seating introduced last year returns with approximately double the capacity. Evening entertainment receives an upgrade with special nighttime performances by German bands featuring enhanced lighting effects. Multiple visitor campaigns throughout the event period provide additional value for families and friends.

Venue Experience

Munich's Oktoberfest represents the world's largest beer festival, famous for its cheerful music, massive beer tents, and vibrant beer garden gatherings. This year's Yokohama version introduces new areas designed to deliver authentic experiences throughout different sections of the venue.

Large Traditional Tent

A large tent filled with beer booths and seating will host lively performances by a German band. Imported directly from Germany, the tent recreates an authentic Oktoberfest atmosphere. As one of the event's main attractions, it features Japan-debut and event-exclusive beers, along with a variety of German foods that perfectly complement the drinks.

Beer Garden Areas

To recreate an authentic atmosphere, three dedicated beer garden sections, each themed around a different beer brand, will be introduced for the first time. Each booth features decorations and menus reflecting the identity of its brand, offering not only authentic German beers imported directly from Germany but also a wide range of non-alcoholic and alternative beverages. In addition, every vendor presents a strong lineup of meat dishes, including juicy sausages and slow-cooked spare ribs—perfect companions for enjoying beer outdoors.

Beer Garden Vendors

Each beer garden area features authentic German brewery experiences with specialized food pairings and atmospheric decorations that reflect the character of each brand.

Hackerpschorr Section

Authentic German beer from the six official brands of Munich Oktoberfest pairs perfectly with spare ribs simmered in Hacker-Pschorr.

Weihenstephaner Section

The world's oldest existing brewery, it has been brewing beer for over a thousand years while carrying on its rich history and traditions. A hearty platter featuring a variety of meats—including eight kinds of sausages and spare ribs—is also highly recommended.

Krombacher & Plank Section

A wide selection of beers will be featured, including many making their Japan debut and others available exclusively at Yokohama Oktoberfest. Guests can also enjoy rotisserie chicken, served in portions ideal for sharing with friends and family.

Hofbrau Section

For the first time, a hexagonal wooden hut, or Hütte, modeled after authentic German style, will appear as a roofed standalone booth distinct from the beer garden seating. Offering a bar-like atmosphere unlike the large tent or garden sections, this special area highlights Hofbräu, the traditional German beer once favored by royalty. Guests can also take advantage of all-you-can-drink plans and reserved seating options.

Complete menu details and reservation information will be available on the official website from mid-September
