Yokohama Frühlings Fest 2026 will be held at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Event Plaza and Aka Renga Park from Friday, April 24 through Sunday, May 10, 2026 — a total of 17 days. Admission to the venue is free.
"Frühlings Fest" is the German word for "spring festival." In Germany, this type of outdoor celebration is a familiar seasonal tradition held across the country each spring. Because Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse itself incorporates elements of German architecture, the event was first held there during Golden Week in 2013 and is now in its 12th edition. Last year's festival welcomed approximately 390,000 visitors, firmly establishing it as Yokohama's signature springtime event with a distinctly German atmosphere.
This year's theme is "Fun & Fam," reflecting a focus on creating a comfortable, multi-generational day out for families. Alongside the core German festival experience, the lineup includes day camping, family-oriented activities, a relaxed seating area for visitors with young children, and kid-friendly food and drinks.
German Beer, Food & Live Music
The festival features a wide selection of German beers alongside local craft beers from Kanagawa Prefecture. The food menu covers everything from classic German staples to lesser-known home-style dishes and seasonal spring ingredients, giving visitors a genuine taste of German food culture right in Yokohama.
Live performances by a German brass band are a festival highlight. The energetic stage shows draw in the crowd and bring an authentic German feel to the waterfront setting.
Day Camping with a Minatomirai View
Visitors can enjoy a day camping experience with a backdrop of the Minatomirai skyline. The setup includes BBQ grills, a camping car, and even a smoker — all available for casual use without an overnight stay. The combination of urban scenery, a nearby shopping destination, and quality outdoor equipment makes for an experience that's unique to this waterfront location.
Family & Kids Activities
A range of family-friendly activities fills out the program, including inflatable play structures and a fishing pond — workshops that parents and children can enjoy together. Family seating areas make it easier for visitors with young children to settle in, and the food and drink selection caters to all ages. Within the same venue, adults and kids can each enjoy the day at their own pace.
SEASIDE CINEMA — Free Outdoor Movie Screenings
A pop-up outdoor cinema called SEASIDE CINEMA will appear at the venue, screening popular films for free from Saturday, May 2 through Wednesday, May 6 (five days). Movies will be shown against the nighttime backdrop of the Minatomirai skyline — a setting that makes for a memorable evening out. Film titles will be announced in mid-April.
