You'll find sake-focused venues along traditional shopping streets like Otesuji and Nayamachi, and the popular Fushimi Sake Village (Fushimi Sakagura Koji) where you can sample sake from around 17–18 breweries—an ideal starting point for a night out. In Uji, celebrated as Japan's tea town, nightlife is more intimate. Small izakayas and bars cluster around JR Uji and Keihan Uji stations, and some spots offer tea-inspired drinks and local specialties. While Uji has fewer drinking venues than Fushimi, its cozy atmosphere—plus summer cormorant-fishing cruises on the Uji River—adds distinctive evening charm.
