Advance tickets for the paid area of the Arashiyama Bamboo Light-up, a lantern-lit evening event held in Kyoto's Arashiyama, are now on sale through EX Travel Reservation, part of Central Japan Railway Company's (JR Central) "So Da, Kyoto, Ikou" tourism campaign. Last year's event sold out on every date; this year the illuminated area has been expanded for an even more elaborate experience.
The guaranteed-entry ticket, which lets visitors reserve a spot ahead of time, is sold exclusively through EX Travel Reservation. Booking in advance means skipping the same-day ticket line and moving straight into the paid area, making it easier to enjoy the bamboo grove bathed in fantastical light on an autumn night.
Purchasing requires membership registration with the EX Service (Express Reservation / Smart EX).
Sales will end once the planned quota is reached.
