The Marenco sofa, which has been on sale in Japan since 1971, is reaching its 55th anniversary milestone. To mark the occasion, arflex Japan is rolling out a series of special projects throughout 2026, beginning June 4.
A dedicated anniversary site — "marenco a go! go!" — will go live on June 4, showcasing newly filmed Marenco video content as well as ongoing updates covering various facets of the sofa's appeal. Upcoming highlights include artist collaborations, user interview features, and new washable knit cover colorways to be announced later in the year.
Special Project Part 1: LIMITED COLORS & CUSHION
55th Anniversary Limited Stamp Colors and Cushion
The Marenco is well known for its signature logo-stamp design on a special linen-blend fabric (LI-BE). To celebrate the 55th anniversary, two limited-period stamp colors — Red and Green — are being added alongside the standard Black, giving the sofa a playful anniversary-exclusive look.
A 55th Anniversary Limited Cushion (including inner material) will also be sold during the campaign period. Customers who purchase a Marenco sofa body receive a complimentary 55th Anniversary Limited Cushion — one per unit. (Ottomans are excluded from the gift.)

55 Limited Cover Colors
To mark the 55th anniversary, arflex has curated 55 fabric colors from popular archive materials that are no longer carried in regular stores. During the exhibition period they will be offered at special anniversary pricing. The lineup ranges from classic solids to refined woven patterns and character-rich prints — something for long-time Marenco owners looking for a fresh look, as well as those discovering the sofa for the first time.
