A new canned product, Asahi Draft Beer Half & Half, is coming to stores across Japan on June 9 in limited quantities.
The beer blends "Maruef" — the affectionate nickname for Asahi Draft Beer — with Asahi Draft Beer Black (Kuro Nama) in a 1:1 ratio. The combination delivers the mellow, smooth texture of Maruef alongside the roasted aroma of Kuro Nama in a single can, bringing together the distinctive qualities of both brews.
The Half & Half pour first gained popularity as a way to enjoy beer at events such as the "Demaruef Yokocho" street festival, and this marks the first time it has been made available as a canned product.
Asahi has been expanding the ways to enjoy the Maruef brand. In February 2026, the company launched Asahi Draft Beer One Third nationwide — a blend of Maruef and Kuro Nama in a 2:1 ratio. Pouring Maruef into a glass is also being highlighted as a way to experience its signature mellow taste.
