Asahi Zeidaku, an Unfiltered Beer Defined by Its Cloudy Character, Now Available in Limited Quantities

A new unfiltered beer called Asahi Zeidaku (アサヒ 贅濁) has become available through Asahi Beer's test sales site "Asahi Kuuso Kaihatsu-kyoku" (Asahi Fantasy Development Bureau) starting March 23, in limited quantities.

Most beers are filtered after fermentation and maturation to achieve a clear, transparent appearance by removing yeast and other components derived from raw materials. Asahi Zeidaku takes a different approach by intentionally skipping this filtration step, resulting in a rich body, deep umami flavor, and a fine, distinctive cloudiness.

The package features a pale gold base with a large "ZEIDAKU" icon inspired by the cloudiness that spreads through a glass the moment the beer is poured. The phrase "Premium, Unfiltered." (上質、無濾過。) is printed on the package to clearly convey the product's character.

The test sales platform "Asahi Kuuso Kaihatsu-kyoku" operates under the slogan "We imagine because we love it. We make it real because we love it." and has been bringing customer-inspiring product ideas to life as limited-time, limited-quantity test releases. Customers who purchase products are invited to fill out a survey on taste and packaging, and their feedback is incorporated into future product development.
