AQUARIUM × ART átoa (átoa) in Chuo-ku, Kobe, Hyogo, is teaming up with the "Tove Jansson and the Moomins" exhibition at Kobe City Museum. As part of the collaboration, related books and posters are displayed on the 3rd-floor FOYER inside átoa.

Combo tickets that include admission to both the "Tove Jansson and the Moomins" exhibition and átoa are also on sale. The combo tickets are sold exclusively on Asoview!, and advance tickets are ¥300 less than the regular price. After viewing the original drawings and sketches of Tove Jansson, the origin of the Moomin stories, at the exhibition, visitors can experience átoa's fantastical aquarium art. It is a special plan for enjoying both "art" and "stories" all day in Kobe.

From October 10 (Sat) to November 30 (Mon), 2026, "MOOMIN x KOBE PORT TOWER", an experiential event hosted by Felissimo Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Kobe, Hyogo), will also take place. Facilities from the Kobe waterfront area to the Kitano area and Rokko Island come together in the world of Moomin. Collaboration goods, including limited-edition packaged products with signature Kobe confections loved for many years, such as Kawara Senbei (瓦せんべい) from Kamenoi Kameido Honke (亀の井 亀井堂本家) and Petit Gaufres from Kobe Fugetsudo, are scheduled to be sold at átoa's 1st-floor Museum Shop.

About "Tove Jansson and the Moomins"

2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the publication of the Moomin novels. To commemorate the occasion, the special exhibition "Tove Jansson and the Moomins" will be held this autumn at Kobe City Museum, in cooperation with the Helsinki Art Museum (HAM) in Finland.

Tove Jansson (1914–2001), the creator of Moomin, was an artist who showed her talents in many fields, including painting, satirical cartoons, comics, picture books, and novels. The exhibition looks back at her creative world through around 300 items, including early oil paintings, satirical cartoons from around World War II, original artwork and sketches from the Moomin novels and comics, and her favorite belongings. It also explores the appeal of the Moomin series, which strongly reflects her life.
