Panasonic Cycle Tech and BEAMS Release Limited-Edition Electric Bicycles to Mark BEAMS's 50th Anniversary

Panasonic Cycle Tech and BEAMS are bringing out two limited-edition electric bicycles to celebrate BEAMS's 50th anniversary, marking the third chapter of a collaboration that began nearly two decades ago.

The partnership between the two companies dates back to 2006, when BEAMS celebrated its 30th anniversary. A year later, in 2007, the first collaborative model — "BP01" — was launched. Inspired by BMX design, it was conceived as an electric assist bicycle that people would genuinely want to ride, and it later served as the origin of the "EZ" series that continues to this day. In 2016, the collaboration produced "BP02," a model centered on the idea of "cruising" — combining design appeal with everyday usability.

Now, with BEAMS turning 50 in 2026, Panasonic Cycle Tech is introducing two anniversary models as a tribute to roughly 20 years of shared history.

BP02 LIMITED — arriving in limited quantities of 500 units in early July 2026 — is themed around "fusion," bringing together elements from past collaboration models. It incorporates the handlebars from the "EZ" series and carries a special symbol exclusive to the 50th anniversary edition.

BP01/EZ LIMITED — themed around "revival" — will be released in early October 2026, limited to 1,000 units. This model recreates the specifications of the original "BP01," restoring its distinctive details and color scheme as faithfully as possible, along with the same 50th anniversary engraving.

Key features of the anniversary models:

  1. Restoration of the original "BP01" design details and colors, harking back to the 30th anniversary model
  2. "BP02 LIMITED" adopts "EZ" handlebars under a fusion concept
  3. Exclusive 50th anniversary symbol engraved on both models
