MARU Corporation (headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo; President: Konami Nishino) will launch a limited-time sale of BellFrites Belgian frites made with carefully selected Hokkaido potatoes at Candyapple AEON MALL Nagakute on Saturday, February 7, 2026.

Background: Bringing Authentic "Frites Culture" to Aichi

In Europe, particularly Belgium, frites (French fries) are not just a side dish but a main culinary attraction essential to daily life. The company aims to recreate this rich "frites culture" in Aichi Prefecture, one of Japan's premier food destinations.

In pursuit of the ultimate texture that suits Japanese palates, they arrived at a fusion of "carefully selected Hokkaido potatoes" and "authentic double-frying technique."

To commemorate the opening of BellFrites, a new frites specialty store brand in Tokyo, they will offer a limited-time sale at Candyapple AEON MALL Nagakute in Daikanyama.

Three Commitments of "Frites"

1. 100% Hokkaido Potatoes: Commitment to Variety and Freshness

After visiting production areas across Japan, they carefully select Hokkaido potatoes most suitable for frites. By sourcing the best variety for each season, customers can enjoy the strong natural sweetness and rich aroma of the potatoes.

Additionally, unlike commonly distributed frozen products, directly delivered potatoes are cut fresh on-site and cooked to order.

2. Crispy Outside, Fluffy Inside: Traditional "Double-Frying" Method

Following authentic Belgian tradition, they employ a double-frying process in oil at different temperatures. The surface of the thick-cut potatoes becomes remarkably crispy, while the inside achieves a fluffy, freshly-steamed texture.

3. Over 10 "Dipping Sauces" to Enhance Individuality

To keep the experience enjoyable until the last bite, sauces are essential. In Belgium, dipping in mayonnaise is the standard.
