A Beloved Tradition Returns
The Strawberry ONI Ring has become a popular tradition since its debut in 2024 at the JR Nagoya Takashimaya store. This bright red donut, designed to resemble an oni (demon) in celebration of Setsubun, has sold out daily during previous years, and now makes its third annual appearance.
The donut features fluffy dough topped with white chocolate coating and tangy strawberry nappage. A pudding-flavored coating creates the yellow swirled hair pattern, while bitter chocolate forms the powerful facial expression. Sweet chocolate chips add small horns to complete the oni look.
The result is a charming red oni donut that balances strength with cuteness, making it perfect for the Setsubun season.
