From April 27 to June 30, 2026, Biwako Otsu Prince Hotel (located at Onohama 4-7-7, Otsu, Shiga) is holding a restaurant fair titled "Omi Umaimon Kikou: Early Summer Lake Biwa Journey" across four of its dining venues. The series puts Omi beef — considered Japan's oldest branded wagyu — at the center of the menu, with each restaurant interpreting it through a different culinary tradition.

Beaux Séjours (38F) — Early Summer French Course with Omi Beef and Asagara Minori Wine

Hours: 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM (last order 8:30 PM)
Price: ¥9,500 per person / ¥8,000 for Seibu Prince Global Rewards members
At the hotel's top-floor French restaurant, the seasonal course pairs Omi beef with "Asagara Minori," a wine co-developed by a Shiga winery and sommeliers from seven hotels. The Omi beef is smoked over grapevine branches and stems to draw out its aroma and umami. Other highlights include locally sourced prosciutto carved tableside, a vegetable terrine with homemade fresh cheese, and wine-accented garnishes. Dessert also incorporates the wine for a cohesive seasonal finish.

Lake View Dining Biona (37F) — Omi Beef and Local Shiga Dinner Buffet

Hours: 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM (90-minute sessions, last order 8:30 PM)
Price: ¥7,000 per person / ¥6,400 for Seibu Prince Global Rewards members / ¥3,500 for children aged 7–12 / ¥2,000 for children aged 4–6
The buffet on the 37th floor features Omi beef, Omi chicken, and Kurao pork — three signature meats from Shiga Prefecture. The spread includes Omi beef keema curry, a Shiga-style hot pot (junjun) with Omi beef and Kurao pork, crispy oven-roasted Omi chicken, and an early summer scattered sushi bowl, among other dishes.
Washoku Kiyomizu (36F) — Early Summer Lake Biwa Kaiseki Course

Hours:
- Lunch: 11:30 AM – 3:00 PM (last order 2:30 PM)
- Dinner: 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM (last order 8:30 PM)
Price: ¥8,500 per person / ¥8,000 for Seibu Prince Global Rewards members
The Japanese restaurant's seasonal kaiseki course celebrates the new tea harvest, weaving matcha, sencha, and hojicha into its dishes. A standout item is an Omi beef hot pot simmered in a dashi made from Asamiya-produced hojicha grown in Shiga — the tea's gentle fragrance complements the beef's natural umami for a light, refined result.

Li Fang (1F) — "Suifuu" (Verdant Breeze) Chinese Course

Hours:
- Lunch: 11:30 AM – 3:00 PM (last order 2:30 PM)
- Dinner: 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM (last order 8:30 PM)
Price: ¥6,400 per person / ¥5,800 for Seibu Prince Global Rewards members
Named "Suifuu" (翠風, meaning verdant breeze), the Chinese course evokes the calm, fresh air of early summer. Omi chicken is served as crispy youlinji (oil-drizzled fried chicken), while Omi beef is wrapped in salad rolls and paired with a sauce made from doubanjiang's fermented cousin, douchi. The menu also features chilled potato soup and steamed seasonal vegetables for a light, refreshing feel.
