Japan's average summer temperature keeps climbing, and plenty of people who'd like to wear a hat end up putting it away for the season because it gets too humid underneath. CAMURI set out to answer that with a short visor cap comfortable enough for summer use. It comes in three colors — navy, white, and mustard — priced at ¥8,800 (tax included), with the KIDS size at ¥5,280 (tax included).

CAMURI's long-running Short visor Cap (CA-001) had been collecting reviews like "I'd love a cool cap I could wear in summer" and "I'd buy again if a cooler summer color or fabric came out." Replying to those reviews one by one, the staff kept coming back to the same thought: this is something we need to answer. What Is Seersucker?
Seersucker is a summer staple used in shirts, pants, jackets, bedding, and more. Its signature texture comes from a distinctive weave that alternates puckered and flat strips running lengthwise down the fabric. That structure is what gives seersucker its characteristic coolness and comfortable feel against the skin.
Where the Fabric Comes From
The fabric comes from ACAR, a Turkish textile maker, and is 99% cotton and 1% polyurethane. That small amount of polyurethane gives the fabric some stretch, which helps it fit naturally to the shape of the head.
At 203g per meter, it's on the heavier side for a summer seersucker — typical shirt-weight seersucker for summer runs about 110 to 140g per meter. That density helps the cap hold its shape, and it's why CAMURI chose this fabric: they wanted something that would hold up to years of use.
CAMURI has always insisted on Japan-made fabric for its hats, so it came as a surprise this time: the fabric that felt like exactly the right match, chosen from a set of domestic samples, later turned out to be made in Turkey. Even so, the brand went ahead with it, confident in how it felt to the touch and to wear.
Same Shape, Same Factory
The silhouette and construction match the existing Short visor Cap (CA-001). The fit and the short brim that keeps the face looking clean are unchanged — only the fabric has switched to seersucker. Even the adjuster strap is finished in the same seersucker fabric as the body of the cap. Sewing is still handled by the same domestic factory that makes CAMURI's other caps, so the handcrafted finish stays the same even with the new material.

Since it was founded, CAMURI has offered every item in five sizes — from a KIDS size up to size 5, covering roughly 54 to 62cm in head circumference — to address the common complaints that hats "don't suit me" or "don't fit." That comes from running a hat-focused select shop for more than a decade and hearing fit concerns from many customers along the way.
Seersucker's textured surface gives it a slight stretch, and that bit of give means fit preference can vary a little from person to person. Like every other CAMURI hat, the Seersucker Short visor Cap comes in five sizes, so you can pick the one that fits you best.
