You Can't Be in a Rom-Com with Your Childhood Friends! is a manga by 三簾真也. It was serialized on the web comic platform Magazine Pocket (Kodansha) from March 22, 2022 to June 2, 2026, and a TV anime aired from January to March 2026.
STORY
A first-year high school student nicknamed "えーゆー" (界 世之介) has no girlfriend and is completely hooked on romantic comedies, especially those about childhood friends. His biggest worry right now is that his two childhood friends, しお and あかり, are far too cute.
He knows, however, that "you can't be in a rom-com with your real-life childhood friends." But the feelings of しお and あかり are in fact directed at him. Every heroine is a childhood friend, and the story is full of frustrating, tantalizing and heart-warming moments.
