Courtyard by Marriott Shin-Osaka Station's Bar19 Serves Chestnut-Themed "MARRON TREAT" High Tea This Autumn

Courtyard by Marriott Shin-Osaka Station is bringing chestnuts to every course of a new autumn high tea. From Tuesday, September 1 through Monday, November 30, 2026, Bar19 on the hotel's top floor (19th floor) is serving "MARRON TREAT," a seasonal high tea that works chestnuts into everything from the appetizers to the dessert, paired with a free-flow selection of Veuve Clicquot and original cocktails.

About MARRON TREAT

This autumn's menu explores the many faces of the chestnut, from its natural flavor to sweet chestnuts, chestnut paste, and shibukawa-ni (chestnuts simmered in syrup with their skins left on), all paired with autumn fruits and vegetables. The top tier of the three-tier stand features herb-marinated rare-grilled red sea bream with sweet chestnut and fig, while the middle tier offers three appetizers, including a chestnut and pumpkin dish topped with red shrimp and lime. The bottom tier holds a fish dish styled to resemble a Mont Blanc, with a chestnut and nut mousse. The main course pairs domestic beef fillet, baked under a cheese-topped breadcrumb crust, with a chestnut and mushroom red wine sauce. For dessert, a brownie baked with chestnuts and pear is layered with chestnut paste whipped cream and finished with Shine Muscat grapes and chopped shibukawa-ni.

The free-flow drink selection includes Veuve Clicquot, a chestnut liqueur cocktail, non-alcoholic cocktails, and chestnut-flavored tea, meant to complement the menu in a lounge overlooking the Osaka skyline.

Fish Course: Oven-Baked Beltfish Styled as a Mont Blanc

The bottom tier's fish course is shaped to resemble a Mont Blanc. Beltfish is seasoned, carefully rolled, and steamed, then topped with a white cream sauce made with sweet chestnuts, walnuts, and roasted almonds before being oven-baked, highlighting the richness of beltfish at its autumn peak.

Dessert: Chestnut and Shine Muscat Parfait

A brownie baked with sweet chestnuts and pear sits at the bottom of the glass, layered with rum-laced chestnut whipped cream and vanilla ice cream, then topped with Shine Muscat grapes and chopped shibukawa-ni. The dessert balances the juiciness of Shine Muscat with the rich flavor of chestnut.

From Restaurant Chef Yuhei Ogawa

"We wanted every dish to show a different side of chestnuts, from their natural flavor to sweet chestnuts, chestnut paste, and shibukawa-ni. For the savory dishes, we paired chestnuts with autumn fruits and seasonal ingredients to bring out their deeper appeal beyond sweetness. We hope you'll enjoy these special flavors of the season."
