Nihon Toys R Us Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture; President and CEO Peter Schatz), which operates Japan's largest specialty stores for toys and baby products, will begin selling a new fall/winter apparel collection for DRAGON QUEST BABY&KIDS from Friday, September 18. DRAGON QUEST BABY&KIDS is the official baby and kids brand developed by Square Enix Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo; President and CEO Takashi Kiryu) around its Dragon Quest series. The collection will be available at Babies R Us stores nationwide (including combined Toys R Us / Babies R Us locations) as well as at the Toys R Us / Babies R Us ZOZOTOWN store.
DRAGON QUEST BABY&KIDS is the official baby and kids brand of the role-playing game (RPG) series Dragon Quest, which marks its 40th anniversary this year. Dragon Quest has been enjoyed across two and three generations of players, and the brand's products are made with the hope that they can serve as a way for fans to connect with their children and grandchildren.
This new collection is the fifth installment in the series, which has been well received since its debut in September 2024. Alongside the popular rompers, tops, and bottoms from previous releases, the lineup has been further expanded. Responding to customer requests, the fall/winter (AW) collection now offers sizes up to 130cm for the first time, evolving into a collection that a wider range of children can enjoy.
The collection also weaves in motifs familiar to fans throughout its designs, including Slimes, monsters, Mini Medals, and command-menu icons, offering plenty of items that bring the world of Dragon Quest closer to everyday life. Among them, the quilted items carry a playful touch — look closely, and you'll find a Slime hidden within the design.
Three New Firsts for This Collection
1. Cute-Style Items Debut
New cute items featuring popular motifs such as Slime, ribbons, and hearts have joined the lineup. With an adorable design not seen before in the collection, these pieces are easy to work into everyday outfits.
2. Maternity Items Debut
In addition to kids' and baby items, the brand's first maternity items have joined the lineup, including a baby carrier cape, letting parents enjoy the start of life with their baby alongside Dragon Quest.
3. Gift Box Items Debut
Gift box items are also new to the collection, which has long been popular as a gift choice. They're a great choice for baby shower presents or gifts for someone special.
