A limited winery dinner event is being held at Tamba Wine in Kyotamba, Kyoto Prefecture on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in collaboration with Fairfield by Marriott Kyoto Kyotamba. The event is available exclusively to guests staying at the hotel on the night of the event.
The Fairfield by Marriott Michinoeki Project operates 29 accommodation-focused hotels across Japan, promoting travel that uses hotels as a base for exploring lesser-known local attractions. "Tamba Wine Winery Dinner" has been offered in collaboration with local winery Tamba Wine since 2022 and has been well received each time.
Winery Tour and Dinner Experience
Participants will tour the vineyards and winery facility alongside Tamba Wine's winemaker, getting an up-close look at the wine production process while hearing behind-the-scenes stories directly from the people who make it. A highlight of the tour is exclusive access to the barrel cellar — normally off-limits to visitors — where guests can taste wine drawn directly from the barrels. The aroma and flavor profile of barrel-aged wine differs from the finished bottled product, offering a rare sensory experience of the aging process.
Following the tour, guests will enjoy a dinner course featuring seasonal ingredients from Kyotamba paired with wines specially selected by Tamba Wine.

Wine Pairing
"Dela Gris" (Sparkling) 2025
This sparkling wine is made from Delaware grapes — a variety typically used for white wine — but produced using the red wine method, where grape skins and seeds are macerated with the juice during fermentation. Its golden hue has earned it the name "orange wine," and it features a fragrant citrus aroma with a full-bodied, medium finish.
While Delaware white wines tend to be fruity and easy to drink, Dela Gris draws out the richness of the grape skins through extended maceration, adding a depth that sets it apart from conventional white wine. Fine bubbles create a pleasant effervescence, and the complexity born from red wine-style production makes it a luxurious pour. Additional wines curated by Tamba Wine will also be served throughout the dinner.
