FamilyMart Online Launches "Mu" Collaboration Goods — Unconfirmed Life Form and Taste-Confirmation Object T-Shirts Arrive

One Publishing Co., Ltd.'s super-mystery magazine "Mu" is collaborating with FamilyMart Co., Ltd.'s "Same Price, 45% More" campaign on two T-shirts and a set of acrylic charms, going on sale via FamilyMart Online from Friday, August 7, 2026.

The illustration "Aliens Gathering at FamilyMart" (art by Aoi Kusano), originally drawn as the key visual for the "Mu x FamilyMart Online Lottery" that drew a big response when it ran in February 2026, has now become a glow-in-the-dark T-shirt — the Unconfirmed Life Form T-Shirt. The second design isn't an unconfirmed life form itself, but a "Taste-Confirmation Increased-Volume Object T-Shirt." Both feature the Mu logo printed in FamilyMart's signature colors.

Also joining the lineup are eye-catching acrylic charms measuring a substantial 4 to 5cm. There are 12 designs in all, carrying phrases like "Is This a Second Helping?," "Giant Food & Drink Object Approaching," and "Let's Go — Beyond Full," guaranteed to earn a second glance from anyone who spots them.

The Story Behind the Collaboration

The collaboration items are built around the "outsized urban legend" motif from FamilyMart's new TV commercial "Same Price, 45% More," airing nationwide since Tuesday, August 4. In the commercial, Kotaro Yoshida plays a UMA (unconfirmed mysterious animal) researcher and Rikako Yagi plays an urban legend reporter, vividly investigating a sudden "outsized urban legend" — a giant FamiChiki floating in the sky.

The lineup reflects both the "mysteries and wonders of the world" — UFOs, UMAs, paranormal phenomena, ancient civilizations, urban legends — that Mu has explored from its own unique angle, and the "increase" keyword central to the commercial.
