The broadcast stations and start dates for Season 2 of the short anime Fist of the North Star: Elegy of the Fist King Army Grunts, produced under the new anime production label "Animatica," have been officially announced. The new season is scheduled to begin airing on Monday, July 6, 2026.

Tsuyoshi Ujiki Joins as Special Guest Guitarist for Season 2 Ending Theme
The legendary Fist of the North Star franchise is well known for having attracted many prominent artists to contribute music across its various adaptations. The currently airing Fist of the North Star -FIST OF THE NORTH STAR- features [Alexandros] on the opening theme, while Toshl's cover of the iconic "Ai wo Torimodosei!!" has also drawn wide attention for the ending.
Fist of the North Star: Elegy of the Fist King Army Grunts maintains an equally strong commitment to its music. For the Season 2 ending, the new song "Shiroi Cho ga Tondara" (written and composed by Seiji Miura) by Itsuka▶ (Itsuka Saisei) features legendary guitarist Tsuyoshi Ujiki — who once performed the original Fist of the North Star anime's theme song with Kodomo Band — as a special guest guitarist.
Comment from Tsuyoshi Ujiki:
"It's been about 40 years since we (Kodomo Band) performed the theme for the Fist of the North Star anime, and the fact that I keep getting called back at these milestone moments is something truly remarkable — something I could never have imagined back then. As an artist, there will come a day when I retire, but the work lives on forever. Fist of the North Star is a series that has continued to stir the hearts of readers, viewers, and artists across generations. Back when anime was still widely considered something only for children, Fist of the North Star showed a new possibility for the medium — a human drama, a hard-boiled action story. My connection with this work is something precious to me as an artist.
The longer time passes, the more I realize the magnitude of this series and just how many people continue to love it.
