X: The Movie, the anime film featuring X JAPAN's ballad "Forever Love" — composed by YOSHIKI — as its theme song, began an exclusive, limited-time unlimited streaming release on d Anime Store on Friday, August 14, 2026. The film, a theatrical anime adaptation based on the original comic by CLAMP first released in 1996, is now streaming with unlimited access for the first time.
X: The Movie marks 30 years since its theatrical release. Set in a near-future Tokyo, the film depicts an epic battle over the future of humanity, with X JAPAN's "Forever Love" as its theme song vividly coloring its world.
"Forever Love" is one of YOSHIKI's signature compositions and has long been beloved as X JAPAN's representative ballad. Since its 1996 release, it has been performed countless times not only at X JAPAN concerts but also around the world. Presented in a variety of forms depending on the era and stage — including classical arrangements for YOSHIKI's own piano and orchestra — the song has stood as a symbol of YOSHIKI's musical career, reaching fans worldwide for 30 years.
In Tateyama, Chiba Prefecture — YOSHIKI's hometown — "Forever Love" is broadcast over the local disaster-prevention public address system and used as the departure melody at JR Tateyama Station, making it a song deeply rooted in the community.
Now, 30 years after its release, X: The Movie and the song that colors its world, "Forever Love," are once again reaching a wide audience.
YOSHIKI will also hold "EVENING / BREAKFAST with YOSHIKI 2026 in TOKYO JAPAN" 100th ANNIVERSARY at the Grand Hyatt Tokyo starting August 27. The dinner show series, which began in 2014, reaches its landmark 100th performance this time, with all seven shows — including additional performances — sold out. Every ticket, from the ¥300,000 VIP tickets to the ¥1,000,000 VVIP tickets at the top price, sold out immediately.
For the 100th anniversary performance, a center-stage format will be used for the first time, with special productions such as guest appearances and surprise sessions also planned.
At a classical performance held in July at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, Josh Groban sang "Forever Love" in Japanese, drawing a big response. Following the Los Angeles performance, YOSHIKI now heads into this milestone 100th anniversary performance in Japan.
