Fortnum & Mason, the London-based luxury food brand, is opening its first Japanese tea stand on September 16, 2026 (Wednesday), inside GRANSTA TOKYO, the underground commercial facility within JR Tokyo Station, in the area inside the Marunouchi ticket gates.
The Fortnum & Mason GRANSTA TOKYO store had been closed since January 2026 for area renovation, and now returns with a fresh new look.
The new store lets customers passing through Tokyo Station feel closer to the world of the Fortnum & Mason brand in their everyday lives, taking the form of a takeout-style tea stand with an adjoining grocery corner. It is the brand's first tea stand store in Japan.
The new Fortnum & Mason tea stand is marked by a counter finished in the brand's signature "Eau de Nil" color. While keeping the same spirit of hospitality carried down from the past to the present, the design combines a luxurious impression suited to a takeout-style store with an everyday approachability.
Inside, the store lines up the brand's signature items, carefully selected around the theme of enriching everyday life.
The grocery corner offers Fortnum & Mason's celebrated teas, biscuits, jams, and marmalades, ideal both as heartfelt gifts and as treats for oneself.
At the tea stand, a varied takeout menu lets customers casually enjoy the brand's signature flavors. As a Tokyo Station-exclusive item, the store has developed the "Scone Sandwich," letting customers enjoy a traditional, classic staple of British afternoon tea with one hand.
For drinks, customers can choose from milk tea, black tea, and non-caffeine herbal tea to suit their taste, along with a Japan-exclusive tea soda that combines tea with strawberry jam.
Through this new-style store, Fortnum & Mason aims to bring customers a rich, quality moment in their day through its distinctive flavors.
Fortnum & Mason GRANSTA TOKYO Takeout Menu
Tokyo Station Exclusive: Scone Sandwich, a Portable Take on British Afternoon Tea Tradition
Clotted cream, jam, and scone are a classic, traditional combination from British afternoon tea culture, prepared here in a form easy to carry while passing through the station.
The scone, generously sandwiched with Fortnum & Mason's strawberry jam and Cornwall-region clotted cream, is a piece where rich buttery flavor harmonizes with the fruity sweetness of strawberry.
Signature Blends That Bring Richness to Everyday Life
Milk Tea (Breakfast / Earl Grey Classic / Irish Breakfast)
The milk tea lineup includes three kinds that draw out the character of each tea leaf.
Breakfast, with its rich, malty flavor evoking a "morning wake-up," is combined with milk and sugar for a deep, rich, satisfying taste. The bergamot-scented Earl Grey Classic milk tea is finished unsweetened for a crisp, refreshing taste that highlights its brightness.
As autumn deepens, the hot Irish Breakfast is also recommended.
Black Tea (Fortmason / Royal Blend / Earl Grey Classic)
The recommended choice is "Fortmason," a blend named for the brand's founders.
Indian and Chinese tea leaves carry a richly spreading orange blossom fragrance, delivering a soothing moment amid the bustle of travel.
Herbal Tea (Apricot & Honey & Lavender / Mango & Yuzu)
For those who prefer non-caffeine options, the herbal tea combines the natural sweetness of fruit with floral aromas for a gentle taste, well suited to refreshing oneself while out.
[Japan-Exclusive] Tea Soda
This drink was developed specifically for the new store.
Bergamot-scented Earl Grey Classic is mixed with Fortnum & Mason's strawberry jam, balanced between tartness and sweetness.
The rich aroma of the tea layers with the sweetness of strawberry in a cold, refreshingly crisp soda, finishing with a rich lingering flavor.

About Fortnum & Mason
Fortnum & Mason is a comprehensive luxury food brand and Royal Warrant holder headquartered in Piccadilly, London.
Founded in 1707 by William Fortnum and Hugh Mason, the brand's close relationship with the British royal family began when Queen Anne granted her footman, William Fortnum, permission to sell candles discarded from St James's Palace. Over its long history, it has received the Royal Warrant, the title granted to purveyors to the British royal family, from King Charles III and Queen Camilla, which it continues to hold today. It is especially known for its tea, handmade chocolates, and hamper gifts, having played an important role throughout history while continuing to place value on imagination and discovery today.
