Nihonbashi Sembikiya Sohonten (Muromachi, Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo), Japan's oldest fruit specialty store, is teaming up with Fujisan Sanroku Railway (Funatsu, Fujikawaguchiko, Minamitsuru District, Yamanashi Prefecture) for a special collaboration aboard the Fujisan View Express. From Sunday, August 9 to Sunday, August 16, 2026, the sightseeing train running on the Fujikyu Railway Line will offer the "Sembikiya Premium Fruit Plan," the train's first-ever special program built around desserts created exclusively for the ride by Nihonbashi Sembikiya Sohonten.

The Fujisan View Express offers close-up views of Mount Fuji through its windows and a wood-toned, hotel-like interior that lets passengers unwind in comfort. For this plan, the train highlights a taste tied to the surrounding Yamanashi region: peaches grown in Yamanashi Prefecture, one of Japan's leading peach-producing areas, nurtured by Mount Fuji's clear water and plentiful sunshine. Guests can enjoy a premium juice made from 100% Yamanashi peaches hand-selected by Nihonbashi Sembikiya Sohonten's experienced eye, along with limited desserts created solely for this plan. The tableware used is the same as what is served at the Sembikiya Sohonten Nihonbashi store, adding a detail that makes the experience feel like a visit to a fruit parlor.
By pairing a fruit specialist's long-honed eye for quality with the panoramic Mount Fuji scenery of a sightseeing train, the plan aims to create a memory unique to this place, bringing together carefully selected fruit and the mountain views from the window for a particularly indulgent train journey.
This summer, travelers can enjoy an elevated train trip paired with a refined fruit dessert set against the backdrop of Mount Fuji.

Sliced Shizuoka Muskmelon
Muskmelon is synonymous with Sembikiya Sohonten. This premium fruit is grown in Shizuoka Prefecture greenhouses, tended by hand as if being carefully polished. Enjoy its beautiful netted rind, rich aroma and sweetness, and smooth, melt-in-the-mouth flesh.

Yamanashi Peach 100% Hand-Pressed Juice
The luxury of drinking the fruit of Yamanashi, the kingdom of peaches, just as it is. A rich, 100% straight juice hand-pressed by fruit patissiers, delivering the sensation of tasting the peach flesh itself.

Signature Banana Ice Cream

About the Fujisan View Express
The Fujisan View Express is a red sightseeing train running the 26.6-kilometer stretch between Otsuki and Kawaguchiko stations on the Fujikyu Railway Line, the railway closest to Mount Fuji. The line's elevation changes by roughly 500 meters along its route, and its window-framed views offer a sweeping look at Mount Fuji. The train's design comes from industrial designer Eiji Mitooka, known for his work on JR Kyushu trains, and features a wood-toned, hotel-like interior. The relaxed, refined space turns even travel time into a moment of comfort. The three-car train includes an unreserved car (Car 3) and a reserved car (Car 2), while Car 1 operates as a "special car." In this special car, attendants provide sightseeing guidance and commemorative boarding stamps as part of a travel style with its own dedicated hospitality.
