GELATO PIQUE KIDS & BABY, the kids and baby line of the roomwear brand gelato pique, will release "ASAHIYAMA ZOO GELATO PIQUE" on October 23 (Fri). The collection is inspired by the animals of Asahiyama Zoo in Asahikawa, Hokkaido. It will be available at gelato pique stores nationwide, the gelato pique official online store, the MASH group official app "MASH STORE," and the EC department store "USAGI ONLINE."
About the Collection
This special collection is part of an initiative with Asahiyama Zoo. It takes its motifs from baby snow leopards, Ezo red foxes (Kita-kitsune), and gentoo penguins, expressing the fur and the fluffy texture of each animal. The lineup includes matching items and goods that parents and children can enjoy together.
A portion of the sales will be donated to the Asahiyama "Motto Yume" Fund (あさひやま“もっと夢”基金), supporting activities that look to the future of the animals. The collection is meant to bring gentle warmth to the everyday lives of parents and children, along with thoughts for the animals.
Snow Leopard
The series expresses the snow leopard's beautiful spotted pattern in jacquard, based on white, pale gray, and silver. The knit items use the light, soft "Airy Moko" material (エアリーモコ), and the faces and ears reflect the features of the snow leopards at Asahiyama Zoo, including embroidered blue eyes.
The lineup centers on baby rompers and ponchos, along with ponchos for kids and ladies, baby caps, socks, bibs, and blankets. The plush toy recreates the snow leopard's long tail and has paw pads in jacquard on the soles of its feet. Matching outfits for parents and children or siblings are also possible.

Ezo Red Fox (Kita-kitsune)
The series carefully expresses the reddish-brown coat of the Ezo red fox living in Hokkaido, along with its white chin and belly, black feet, and fluffy white-tipped tail. The knit items use the plump, soft-feeling "Baby Moko" material (ベビモコ), and the ears, face, and tail are designed in three dimensions.
The lineup centers on baby ponchos and rompers, along with ponchos for kids and ladies. Playful details on the hood, pockets, and tail let wearers feel as if they have turned into an Ezo red fox. Gentoo Penguin
Based on the gentoo penguins seen at Asahiyama Zoo, which swim underwater as if flying through the sky, the series expresses the fluffy, adorable look of their chicks through blue coloring and three-dimensional designs. The knit items are based on the "Baby Moko" material and combined with a yarn that evokes a baby's down feathers, creating a fluffy texture and giving the beak and feathers a three-dimensional look.
The baby lineup has six styles (romper, poncho, cap, socks, bib, and rattle), and the kids' lineup adds a blanket. The rompers and ponchos feature foot-shaped pockets, along with a hood, face, and tail designed in three dimensions, making it easy to enjoy dressing up. Animals at Asahiyama Zoo
Snow Leopard
A member of the leopard family adapted to cold climates, the snow leopard lives on rocky ground in high mountain areas at elevations of 3,000–5,500 m in Central and South Asia, such as the Himalayas, the Tibetan Plateau, and the Pamir Plateau. The soles of its feet are covered with fur, which suits moving over snow and rock. Its thick tail is about as long as its head and body.
Ezo Red Fox (Kita-kitsune)
The Ezo red fox is found throughout Hokkaido, as well as on Kunashiri, Etorofu, and other islands. It is still a familiar animal in Hokkaido today, has long had strong ties with people, and often appears in folk tales and legends in various regions. Its coat is reddish-brown, with white from under the chin to the belly. The feet are black, and the tail is reddish-brown with a white tip.
Gentoo Penguin
Gentoo penguins live on the Antarctic Peninsula and on subantarctic islands around the Antarctic continent, such as the Falkland Islands and South Georgia. It is the third largest of the 18 penguin species. Its distinctive features are the white band connecting its eyes and its long tail feathers. It is also said to be the fastest swimmer among penguins.
