Painter Hironori Sato to Hold Solo Exhibition "Somewhere to Belong" at SHARE LOUNGE Karuizawa T-SITE

Painter Hironori Sato's solo exhibition "Somewhere to Belong" will be held at SHARE LOUNGE Karuizawa T-SITE (Karuizawa Town, Kitasaku District, Nagano Prefecture) from Monday, November 2 to Sunday, November 29, 2026.

The works on display were created around the theme of "a place to belong," and they are available for purchase. This is also Sato's first solo exhibition since he changed his artist name from "_hirosato_" to his real name, Hironori Sato.

Depicting Heart-Stirring Moments in Nature on the Theme of "a Place to Belong"

Based in Tokyo and Shonan, Sato continues to create from the scenes he encounters in nature, such as the sea and mountains, and while traveling, along with the sensations he feels in those places.

The exhibition presents a body of work that portrays places that draw people in and the nature of emotions, using motifs such as the sea, water, light, and plants. Two series form the core of the show and express the theme of "a place to belong" from many angles: Womb, in which one surrenders to the overlap of blue and light and sinks deeply into it, and Blooming, in which emotions emerge as colors and shapes are layered while following where the heart is drawn.

The wavering expression created with a sponge and the compositions that move back and forth between the figurative and the abstract are also among the highlights. The works on display can be purchased at the venue.

Artist Statement

I have often come across moments when my heart is moved, in nature such as the sea and mountains and while traveling. In those moments, I can step slightly away from whatever binds me and feel the emotions that arise within me just as they are.

Quiet reassurance, the soft elation of being touched by light, and sometimes loneliness and sorrow. Looking back, I think "a place to belong" is the phrase closest to describing such times and places.

This exhibition is centered on Womb, in which one surrenders to the overlap of blue and light and sinks deeply into it, and Blooming, in which colors and shapes are layered as the heart is drawn and emotions emerge. It depicts the comfortable places I have felt in nature, where the heart moves freely.

I would be happy if, within this exhibition, you could find a place that draws your own heart.

About the Artist

Hironori Sato

Sato is a painter based in Tokyo and Shonan. After graduating from the Department of Psychology at Aoyama Gakuin University, he studied abroad in Australia before turning 30. While backpacking through New Zealand, he began painting as a self-taught artist. He has worked in earnest as a painter since 2021. In 2026, with this exhibition, he is changing his artist name from "_hirosato_" to his real name, Hironori Sato, and launching new activities.

Drawn to nature since childhood, Sato bases his work on the feeling he has encountered while traveling and in nature, the sense that "I can always come back here." He currently paints under the theme of "a place to belong," using motifs such as the sea, water, light, and plants.
