APPLE PIE lab, an apple pie specialty shop run by Tsuguya Seika (津具屋製菓有限会社), is holding its Autumn Harvest Festival "Have a nice Apple" at four stores, including the Karuizawa store.
From the fair's opening day, Saturday, October 24, 2026, the shops will sell the "Tea and Fresh Apple Open Pie" (紅茶とフレッシュりんごのオープンパイ), made with fresh apples and available only this autumn. The fair also puts the spotlight on the flavor of each apple variety, with an expanded lineup of the "Eating Apples Apple Pie" (りんごを食べるアップルパイ) series, in which size-8 (8号) apple pies are cut and served by the slice. During the fair, an apple fortune draw (りんごみくじ) is also held, with one draw for every ¥2,500 spent.
Limited Quantity: "Tea and Fresh Apple Open Pie" Made with This Fall's Fresh Apples
This is the first open-style apple pie at APPLE PIE lab. Apples freshly harvested this autumn are placed on top with the skin left on and baked. A black tea damande is combined with apple preserves that add a pleasant texture, so the aroma of Earl Grey spreads the more you chew.
The variety of fresh apple differs from store to store.

A limited-time "Sweet Potato" flavor joins the palm-sized "Small Apple Pie," an easy-to-eat treat. Crisp, sweet-tart Fuji apples and smooth, fluffy sweet potato are wrapped together in a comforting bite.

Apple Pies in the Showcase Highlight the Differences Between Varieties
The refrigerated showcase also carries an expanded lineup of the "Eating Apples Apple Pie" series, which lets you enjoy the character of each apple. Choices include the classic "Fuji," the deeply sweet "Akibae" (秋映), and the seasonal "Marron" (マロン).
New Ways to Enjoy Apples
Apple Fortune Draw (りんごみくじ)
Starting on the fair's opening day, Saturday, October 24, customers can take part in the "Ringo Mikuji" apple fortune draw once for every ¥2,500 (tax included) spent (while supplies last).
The back of each slip lists a recommended apple variety based on the fortune drawn, and customers who draw "Dai-dai-kichi" (大大吉, "extra-great luck") may win a special present. Try telling your fortune with apples.
