Hotel New Grand will host a special indoor cherry blossom viewing dinner event titled "Evening Sakura Ensemble: Music and Cuisine" on March 12, 2026, at the Phoenix Room, a historic banquet hall designated as a Yokohama City certified historical building.

This one-night-only dinner event offers a unique musical experience combining the mystical sounds of the shakuhachi (traditional Japanese bamboo flute) with piano, while guests enjoy beautiful evening cherry blossoms that gracefully decorate the classic space and a course of creative French cuisine themed around spring and sakura. In a space adorned with elegant architectural decorations such as kaerumata (frog-leg struts, a feature of traditional Japanese temple architecture), coffered ceilings, and oriental hanging lights, guests can enjoy cherry blossom viewing leisurely without worrying about late spring cold, weather, securing spots, or crowds. Take this opportunity to savor a supreme evening experiencing cherry blossoms—long cherished as harbingers of spring—alongside the fusion of Japanese and Western instruments and Hotel New Grand's traditional French cuisine.

The Phoenix Room, which operated as the main dining room when Hotel New Grand opened in 1927, adopts traditional Japanese architectural styles and was designed with the awareness that most guests at that time were foreigners. This venue, still used as a banquet hall today, is a one-of-a-kind space that captivates visitors with its ceiling decorations and unique atmosphere the moment they step inside.
