From November 20 to December 25, 2026, OMO7 Yokohama by Hoshino Resorts is holding its first "Legacy Christmas," an event that brings together the historic and modern sides of Yokohama. The "in-town" hotel is a legacy hotel that carries on the former Yokohama City Hall Administrative Building, a Yokohama City Certified Historic Building designed by architect Togo Murano.
Together with the "OMO Rangers," hotel staff who know the neighborhood well, the event offers a guest-only tour from Kannai to the port area called "YOKOHAMA Illumination Ride," a "Legacy Christmas Tree" shining on the grand staircase inside the hotel, and a "Stollen Parfait" inspired by the traditional Christmas sweet. It is a way to spend Christmas that draws on the hotel's ties with the local community.
"OMO Ranger" is a collective name for staff at OMO-brand hotels who love their town and know it inside out.
Background
Yokohama has a history of more than 160 years since the port opened and has developed as a gateway for Western culture. In winter, the whole city comes alive with illuminations and Christmas markets, making it a popular area. OMO7 Yokohama, which opened in spring 2026, planned this Christmas event by combining the hotel's character as a historic building (its legacy) with OMO's neighborhood walks and sightseeing experiences carried out in partnership with the local community. The aim is to let guests enjoy Yokohama's winter charm, from well-known spots to lesser-known ones.
Three Ways to Enjoy Christmas Based at OMO7 Yokohama
1. "YOKOHAMA Illumination Ride" Tour Through Illuminated Streets and Christmas Spots

The "YOKOHAMA Illumination Ride" is a tour of Yokohama's illuminated streets and Christmas spots aboard "Kannai Marlo" (関内マーロ), an eco-friendly electric Green Slow Mobility vehicle owned by Keikyu Corporation. The route passes lively events such as "Christmas Market in Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse" and "BALLPARK Xmas YOKOHAMA KANNAI 2026," held in and around Yokohama Park, and also loops through a classic streetscape lined with historic buildings. With an OMO Ranger guiding the way, riders can take in the winter scenery from an open-air vehicle.
Kannai Marlo is a sightseeing service that uses low-speed electric mobility (Green Slow Mobility) to travel slowly around the Yokohama Kannai area at under 20 km/h. See the Kannai Marlo announcement for details.

About Green Slow Mobility

Green Slow Mobility refers to small transportation services that use electric vehicles able to travel on public roads at under 20 km/h, as well as the vehicles themselves. Its introduction is expected to help solve various local transportation issues and establish low-carbon transport.
2. "Legacy Christmas Tree" on the Grand Staircase, Carrying the Memory of the Former City Hall

The "Legacy Christmas Tree" stands on the grand staircase connecting the 1st and 2nd floors of the hotel. It is decorated with ornaments made from reused fragments of tiles from the former Yokohama City Hall, as well as ornaments modeled on gas lamps, which Yokohama is said to be the birthplace of in Japan. The grand staircase carries on and reconstructs the design of the grand staircase in the former Citizens' Hall (旧市民広間), a symbol of the former Yokohama City Hall. Designed by Togo Murano and loved by Yokohama residents, the staircase is lit with warm light in a space that only a legacy hotel can offer.
3. A Break at OMO Bakery: Limited-Time Parfait and Drinks Inspired by Christmas Traditions and Scenery

At "OMO Bakery," a first for the OMO brand, the hotel serves the "Stollen Parfait" for a limited time. It gives stollen, a traditional Christmas sweet, a new form. Rich white chocolate cream is paired with sweet and tart strawberries and berries, and topped with spiced stollen ice cream. A piece of stollen is placed next to the ice cream, and the recommended way to eat it is to dip the stollen in the cream and ice cream. The parfait offers a relaxed way to enjoy Christmas before or after a walk around town.
