HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO, located near Nijo Castle in central Kyoto, is hosting a limited-time "Fresh Greenery Afternoon Tea" at its Bar & Lounge THE GARDEN BAR from April 29, 2026 (Wednesday, public holiday) through June 30, 2026. Guests can enjoy an elegant tea time while looking out over the inner courtyard adorned with brilliant fresh green maple leaves.
The dessert plate is designed to evoke the beauty of early summer foliage. Sweets such as "Melon and Shiso Verrine" and "Matcha and Lemon Terrine" make use of seasonal melon, kiwi, and matcha to highlight refreshing shades of green. On the savory side, items like "Green Hummus Tart" and "Small Shrimp and Vegetable Aspic" add splashes of vibrant early-summer color to the spread.
As a welcome tea, gyokuro from Yanagien — a traditional Kyoto tea purveyor with over 150 years of history — is served. The tea comes presented alongside Kyoto-crafted tea canisters, tea infusers, and tea bowls, offering guests a chance to appreciate the region's traditional craftsmanship.
A "Premium Option" that has proven popular in previous editions is also available. Pastry Chef Itagaki has crafted a visually striking "Melon Parfait," served alongside three types of original mocktails, delivering the juicy sweetness of melon with a fresh, early-summer flavor.
